Photo Journal: Martinique Beach, Eastern Shore, NS

Took a nice trip down the coast today to visit gorgeous Martinique beach! Here's a photo journal of our journey....

The highway enroute - this is pretty much what every highway in Nova Scotia looks like... :)

It's a gorgeous drive along the coast - there's lots of lobster traps and fishing boats along the way. Pretty picturesque!

And we're there! A pathway to the blue ocean...

Gorgeous white sandy beach....

Lovely waves--there were a lot of people on this section of the beach, and we saw a lot of surfers in another section on our way in. It was such a gorgeous beach day!

Shots like the following few really make me think about pirates - pirates and privateers came commonly to these shores in the old days. (Oak Island on the south shore of Nova Scotia is probably our most famous pirate-related area). You can really easily imagine a pirate ship just off the shore...

Did I have a good time? You bet! (Always be cautious when turning your back to the sea, though!)

Learn more about Martinique here, and here. The area doubles as a nature sanctuary, too!
